We have identified an issue with the Squirrel Cloud POS Windows FOH app where it fails to launch on Windows 10 devices after being closed. This problem stems from a Microsoft Windows update, KB5046613, released by Microsoft on November 12, 2024. Windows 11 devices do not appear to be affected by this Microsoft update. Microsoft has been informed of this issue through global forums, and we are awaiting their response regarding a resolution.

Alternatively, steps for those with customer IT staff managing Windows updates: 1. Verify the Problematic Update • Navigate to Windows Update > View Update History > Uninstall Updates and locate KB5046613. 2. Uninstall the Update • Select and uninstall KB5046613. • Restart the device. • Allow Windows to fully load, then attempt to launch the Squirrel Cloud FOH app. 3. Pause Windows Updates • After uninstalling the update, pause Windows Updates to prevent automatic reinstallation. We recommend pausing updates for at least two weeks while waiting for Microsoft’s resolution.
